Verona has been awarded world heritage site status by UNESCO because of its great variety of monuments and architecture which clearly underline the thrive and success of its history. It attracts millions of tourists from every country of the world.

Just as you walk out the"Residenza Giuseppe Verdi", you can see the nice medieval lanes of the historic centre where you can breathe a magic atmosphere thanks to masterpieces known worldwide: the Arena, the Roman Theatre, Ponte Pietra, Castelvecchio, the Dome, Basilica of San Zeno Maggiore, Piazze delle Erbe, Piazza Bra, Piazza dei Signori and so on.

Even Shakespeare was inspired by Verona’s magic atmosphere and wrote one of his best plays accordingly: Romeo and Juliet. For those who are in love the Juliet’s balcony is a must-see in Verona.

In Verona many types of events and international kermises take place: the most famous is the "Verona Arena Festival".
The festival takes place every summer and the first operas were performed in 1913 in celebration of the centenary of the birth of Giuseppe Verdi.
Another important event is the "Estate Teatrale Veronese" which takes place at the pictorial Roman Theatre located in the city.
